Jigsaw anyone?
My new latest retail store obsession is Jigsaw, famously known for hiring Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge as an assistant accessory buyer. Jigsaw is a British retailer, with a slight presence in the United States. The company has a J. Crew feel to it, but its much better. The merchandise is fun and sophisticated at the same time. My latest favorite dress is a sequin mini, that I am thinking I must have for New Years, I think I will wear this my new black satin Manolo's.

Top Items all women should have in their closets
I love clothes and its obvious if you would walk into my bedroom size closet. I am obsessed with clothing, shoes and handbags. I literally have a tower of Jimmy Choo boxes neatly stacked against the wall. I keep everything in a shoe box or a handbag cover so they do not get ruined. I always think that these are collector's items and I have to keep them in the best shape and God willing I hope I have lots girls when I am older to hand them down.
Now if anyone knows me I am completely against wearing fur but I do have one rule. If its vintage its ok. Therefore, with that being said I do own a fur jacket that my mom wore in the 60's, its one of my prized possessions and I think it brings a bit of edge to my look with anything I am wearing. I do wear a lot of faux fur which is ok too. Here are list of things I think every girl should have. What to keep in mind is I am person who loves clean lines and structure and I feel more put together when wear these items.
Top Items every girl should have in their closets:
1.) Black jumpsuit (I wear mine all the time and you can dress it up with a leather jacket or faux fur jacket.
2.) Skinny Jeans -dark wash and a loose fit pair too ( wear them with super chunky high heels or knee high boots)AG jeans fit the best I own several pair.
3.) Plain White T-shirt (the best are from Lucy.com)
4.) Boots Flat and Heeled
5.) LBD (little black dress) I love Reiss its one of my favorite London based designers. The picture is the Naomi dress. Reiss is also responsible for dressing the Princess Duchess of Cambridge.
6.) A good pair of nude high heels
7.) A nice large handbag that will go with anything
8.) Leather Jacket
9.) Flowy Blouse (Joie is one of my favs.)
10.) A great skirt not too short but not to long either
11.) blue jean jacket
12.) cardigan
13.) scarf
14.) flat pair of shoes
15.) Gorgeous Statement Earrings
16.) Cocktail ring
17.) Faux Fur jacket or vest
I know its a lot just breath!!
xoxoxo,

Playboy Club, Pan Am and all those great primetime shows
As I sit in my house I am anxiously awaiting all the new prime time shows on ABC, FOX and NBC. I am so thrilled because I think that fashion styles are definitely going to be seen this fall because of these top shows.
For example, I think we will see the return of the infamous Playboy Club in Chicago and the sexy bunny look will also reignite a huge hit for halloween costumes. The Pan Am series will also take a vintage look of the 50's and 60's and women will be flocking to work as a stewardess on a luxury airline.
Below are pics of the Playboy Club in Chicago and the new show Pan Am
Fashion Week in New York has also followed up on this trend as well. The gatsby look was a huge success and celebrities are becoming more modest to stay in style. I think its a nice change from the Jersey Shore look we have been seeing. The girls are chic, sexy and leave things for the imagination and the men are sleek and dashing. This Hollywood look is going to take us back in time, when the Kennedy's were all the rage and great movie stars looked like stars that fell from heaven and I think it couldn't come at a better time. We all need a little glitz and glamour sometime. I definitely will be rocking this look this fall with a cinched waisted dress and maybe a fur vest to up-date the look. Below are some pics to help guide you.

The Queen Bee!!
So we have all heard of the famous Kate Middleton, or should I say Princess Catherine Duchess of Cambridge, she became the top fashion icon of the century with her moderately priced down to the knee dresses, cinched at the waist gowns and gorgeous clutches. She has come into her own as the new future Queen of England but has definitely stayed humble and for us Americans has taught us to reuse our clothes in our closets just like what she is doing; saving us major bucks! I am totally obsessed with some of her pieces that I am going to post them on this blog so you too may have some princess items in your closet. New York Magazine has also written that she is a style icon that cannot be missed even if her waist is whopping 23 inches. She is definitely the queen bee. I realize this maybe a short post I will try to get better with posting new blogs. xoxo ~L

Coach is SO 90's!!! I am afraid not
This statement all came about while at work today. I sometimes carry a coach purse and so does my co-worker. I feel there is nothing wrong with Coach but apparently there are a group of consumers that feel Coach is so 90's. Tomato, Tomaato think what you want but here is little history of the vintage handbags that are s000 90's, or should I say so000 1941.
Coach, first founded in 1941, was a family run workshop. The luxury hand-goods were first designed by 6 artisans in a Manhattan Loft. Soon after designing the handbags "discerning consumers soon began to seek out the quality and unique nature of Coach craftsmanship"(Coach). Coach's mission is to maintain the highest standards for materials and workmanship. They combine original American attitude and design to their luxury handbags and have great customer service. In 1985, the Sara Lee Corporation bought the Coach brand. Therefore, after being bought out the Coach brand has expanded to all demographics which is not bad at all for the company. This is why people think Coach is so 90's they never heard of Coach before the 90's or they just were not into fashion before then. But Coach has been around for half a century. I know! I have a vintage suede coach messenger bag from the 50's that was given to me from a collector. So for those of you who carry a coach bag take pride in it because its has history and adheres to the Branding law of Quality and Credentials.
Coach bags range in price of $48.00 for a wristlet to over $1,000 for custom bags. THAT IS AS MUCH A LOUIS VUITTON!!! So buy coach because its still luxurious or bust out the old one's from the 90's because you know they are vintage now.

Competition and Mistakes in the Fashion World
In the words of John W. Holt, Jr. "If you're not making mistakes, your not taking risks, and that means your not going anywhere. The key is to make mistakes faster than your competition, so you have more changes to learn and and win."
After reading this quote I think to myself "I have made some mistakes", but so has everyone. In the fashion industry I have noticed that the most famous designers and stylist did not get to where they are today by playing it safe. They have sacrificed jobs and have made huge mistakes in their personal and professional lives and that is what they are most noted for today. For example, Chanel was not sweet and innocent. She had an affair with a married man, whom supported her till his tragic death. She wasn't perfect but who is, she obviously took the mistakes she had made and learned from them and took her competitive self to the next level and made her clothing line one of the most luxurious fashion houses in the world.
I, 25 years old, may not be on the cover of Vogue or Marie Claire talking about the struggles I have had in the fashion industry nor am I having an affair but I definitely have made some mistakes. But I have learned and gained knowledge from those mistakes. I have given up jobs with Jay Leno and most currently given a job I desperately loved to a dear friend because she needed one more than I.
But as I look back on those events I was given I get this sudden competitive nerve in my body to be better and faster than everyone else. Is it wrong to want to be everything? Is it wrong that I will push and shove to be the first in line screaming look at me I am the best?
In every class I have ever taken they have said you have to be the best because competition is so great. Well I can definitely say it is and I think I am one very big competitor.
But my question to you is --- do you think that giving up things you desperately want will open doors to other opportunities?
